Put down your ipads and stop sipping on that latte – its time to get planting in the garden.
A lot of these things you can only plant for the next month or so – don’t miss out !
Roses, roses, roses….Yes, we have got nearly 2000 roses in stock. It would have to be one of Australia’s biggest collections. It includes plants from Swane’s Roses in Sydney and Rankin’s Roses in Melbourne. Rankin’s have the exclusive licence for the French Delbard roses. They are strong performers in the garden and have some interesting colours including bi-colours. Many of these varieties will not be available anywhere else. The rose pictured here is ‘One Love’ from Swane’s.
Seed Potatoes
Seed potatoes are guaranteed virus free. Read about why virus free potatoes are important in our blog story here.
Rhubarb
We have big chunky 2 year old Red River rhubarb crowns that have been grown down in Gippsland. Fortunately they were harvested before the recent floods so they are good to go.
Asparagus
The asparagus crowns are also from gippsland which is Australia’s bggest asparagus region. Plant them now and they will likely be around for 25 years. You won’t believe how good freshly harvested asparagus tastes.
Shallots
These are so easy to grow. One little bulb ends up turning into a whole clump of them. They are great to cook with, especially in 1 person households where often an onion is too big.
BARE ROOT FRUIT TREES
Everyone has been busy digging in sticks ! Bare root trees are the best value way to buy a tree and are guaranteed to grow. The odd one may not, but just bring it back with your receipt and you will get a full refund.
