Wollemi Pine
Wollemia nobilis
The Wollemi Pine is a critically endangered species of native Australian tree that has survived since the age of the dinosaurs! As a living fossil, you contribute directly to it’s conservation by planting it in your garden or community. These trees feature a beautiful dark green foliage that grows in long thin leaves along thin branches. The bark is a deep dark brown with a rough bubbled surface. The tree will produce cones as it continues to grow.
Every sale comes with a certificate of authenticity, a care booklet and a pot wrap cover that unfolds to more information on the tree. With less than 100 mature trees in the wild, it is a very unique plant to own.

The tree can be heavily pruned back during the Winter to allow shaping. Fully grown Wollemi Pines can grow to have trunks up to a metre in diameter, and the largest currently recorded tree is 40 metres tall with a 63 centimetre trunk diameter.

Planting Tip:
Australian Natives do not require too much work to get them settled in the garden. By applying an Australian Native fertiliser in their prime growing seasons, Spring and early Autumn, will give plants a boost and keep them healthy. Make sure to use the right food, almost all natives dislike soils and fertilisers with high phosphorus levels, fertilisers with a Phosphorus (P) level of 3% or less is ideal. Only use fertilisers especially made for these plants, look for a feed which reads “Australian Native Fertiliser”.
If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Make sure to use a premium quality Australian Native Potting Mix as this has the correct balance of wetting agents and nutrients required for having a healthy plant.
