Adenathos Lighthouse is a sun-loving, evergreen native shrub with silver-green foliage. During the warmer months of the year, small red blooms appear which are bird and pollinator-attracting. These plants are wonderful in a sensory garden as they have a lovely soft texture. Low water requirements and dislikes being grown in poor draining soils. Adenathos Lighthouse can be grown in a pot as a feature or planted out into the garden to create an informal hedge. Highly bird and bee attracting when in flower. Planting Tips:
Australian Natives do not require too much work to get them settled in the garden. By applying an Australian Native fertiliser in their prime growing seasons, Spring and early Autumn, will give plants a boost and keep them healthy. Make sure to use the right food, almost all natives dislike soils and fertilisers with high phosphorus levels, fertilisers with a phosphorus (P) level of 3% or less is ideal. Only use fertilisers especially made for these plants, look for a feed which reads “Australian Native Fertiliser”.
When planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant selected. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Always use a premium quality Australian Native Potting Mix as this has the correct balance of wetting agents and nutrients required for having a healthy plant.
