Cephalotaxus harringtonia ‘Fastigiata’ – Japanese Plum Yew – 30cm pot
Cephalotaxus Japanese Plum Yew is a very resilient, evergreen conifer which is both coastal and drought tolerant once established. Glossy green needle-like foliage and a neat upright growth habit making it ideal for narrow spaces. Cephalotaxus will grow best in a soil which is moist and free-draining. Low – moderate water requirements, depending on climate. Best used as a feature plant in larger containers or planted out as a formal hedge.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to condition and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend compost/manure with the pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
If planting into a pot, make sure the container selected is large enough for the plant which is going to be planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
