Cherry ‘Starkrimson’ – Freshly Potted*
A compact, upright deciduous fruiting tree which is semi self-fertile, but does produce more fruit with cross-pollination. Cherry Starkrimson produces elliptic deep green leaves which change colour in Autumn. Will require annual pruning in Winter, as this will encourage a stronger branching framework, airflow through the canopy and better fruit quality. Produces medium-large heart shape fruit in clusters on new wood growth. The fruit is a crimson-red, almost mahogany, colour with a red juicy and crisp flesh. The fruit is ideal for cooking, making jam and eaten fresh. This is a very reliable fruiting tree which is great for food gardens or as a feature tree. Cherry Starkrimson grows best in humus-rich soil which is well-draining.
