Fig ‘Black Genoa’ – Freshly Potted*
A large, upright deciduous fruiting tree which is self-fertile. Fig Black Genoa produces large palmate leaves which change colour in autumn before dropping for winter. Will require annual pruning once the foliage has dropped in winter. This will encourage a stronger framework, airflow through the canopy and better fruit quality. Fig Black Genoa produces large long-conical fruit on short stalks twice a year. The fruit is a green-purple colour. The flesh is red with a distinctively sweet flavour. Fruit can be used to make jam. This is an ideal tree for food gardens or as a feature tree. Best grown in humus-rich soil which is well-draining.
