Medlar ‘Dutch’ – 25cm pot
A medium-sized deciduous fruiting tree which requires pollination for fruit development. Medlar Dutch produces gorgeous single white blooms in spring over grey-green foliage with a slightly weeping habit. Will require annual pruning once the foliage has dropped in winter. This will encourage a stronger branching framework, airflow through the canopy and better fruit quality. Medlar Dutch produces medium to large rounded fruit with a brown-green skin. The flesh is a cream white colour with a mild flavour similar to a pear. Can be eaten fresh, great for making jams or jellies. This is an ideal tree for large gardens, food gardens or as a feature tree. Medlar Dutch grows best in humus-rich soil which is well-draining.
