Ribes ‘White Currant’ – Potted
An upright, medium-sized shrub with deep multi-lobed emerald green foliage changes colour in autumn before dropping in winter. White Currant produces large clusters of translucent berries, which keep their translucency when ripe. The fruits are lovely with a slightly sour flavour. These berries are very high in Vitamin C. Fruit is best used for making jams, juice and cooking. Best grown in humus-rich soil, which is free draining. Currants can tolerate cold temperatures and thrive in areas where the winters have a high chill. They are frost tolerant and can be grown in heavy clay soils. Protect plants from strong winds.
