Olive Trolley’s Upright – 18cm

Olive Trolley’s Upright is a highly decorative fruiting tree with slender silver-green foliage. Drought tolerant once established and can be grown in the garden or in larger pots if kept pruned. All Olives require humus-rich soil which has good drainage as they dislike sitting in water for long periods of time. Olive Trolley’s Upright is a fast-growing tree which can be grown in coastal conditions. Produces medium-sized dark green fruits which ripen to a deep purple colour. Fantastic for eating and preserving. Can be planted as a feature tree, informal hedge, screening solutions or as an avenue tree. Low water requirements once established in the garden. If grown in containers keep well watered over the Summer. A great variety to be grown in colder climates like Victoria as it will still produce an abundance of fruit. Slow growing.

Planting Tips:
Prepare the soil prior to planting. By mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost will help to condition and revitalise tired soils. If adding organic matter to your soil, make sure to blend the compost or animal manure with pre-existing soil, mixing/digging it together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole, backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Do not burry the graft of the plant. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.

If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough to accommodate the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
