Helleborus x hybrid ‘Penny’s Pink’ – 18cm pot
A hardy, evergreen, clumping perennial with spotted silver-green foliage. Hellebore Penny’s Pink has mid-pink flowers with yellow stamens in Winter and early Spring. The flowers change colour as they age, starting as a deep pink fading to an antique red/pink. Best used for mass plantings under taller shrubs or canopy trees, they look beautiful in perennial borders, cottage gardens or planted into a pot as a feature. Hellebore Penny’s Pink grows best in a shaded position, however, they can be grown in all day sun if watered. These tough perennials grow best in humus-rich soil, however, they will tolerate sandy soils if kept watered during dry hot weather. Use a premium quality potting mix when planting them into pots. Low water requirements once established in the garden. Occasional watering during the warmer months will keep the plant lush and healthy.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to conditions and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend with pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gasp with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
