Wild Strawberry Alpine, also known as the Wild Strawberry, is a vigorous, compact grower producing an abundance of fruit throughout the season. The fruit is a rich ruby red colour and extremely small, however, they pack a lot of flavour. Strawberry Alpine has an excellent sweet candy flavour and is popular for making jams or desserts. Strawberries are best grown in a sunny position as this will result in better-flavoured fruits. Plant into humus-rich soil which has good drainage or into large containers.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil before planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to condition and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend compost/manure with the pre-existing ground, mixing thoroughly. Once the ground has been prepare, dig a hole which is broader, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
If planting into a pot, make sure the container selected is large enough for the plant selected. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
