Dianella caerulea ‘Little Jess’  – 14cm pot

A clump-forming, evergreen perennial with short strappy green foliage. Dianella Little Jess is a great low maintenance and easy to care for plant. Ideal for potted displays or planted out on mass in the garden for a decorative border. Very low water requirements once established, however, the plant will benefit from occasional deep soaking in the peak of summer, especially if planted into containers. Dianella Little Jess produces masses of purple flowers which appear above the foliage in Spring.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to conditions and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend with pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.

If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
