A neat and compact Salvia with deep plum toned flowers through Summer and Autumn. A great bird and butterfly attracting plant, with a range of uses from pots, mixed garden beds and a mass display.

Why plant? 
These are very versatile plants as they can tolerate a wide range of climate conditions and soil types. Therefore, making them a great beginners plant or a very rewarding plant for even the most experienced of gardeners.  They are extremely long flowering providing months of colour at a time, stems of tubular blooms appear mainly in Autumn and Spring. Once they have finished flowering, their blooms can be pruned off to encourage a second flush of flowers to emerge, within just a matter of a few weeks.

If you are creating a cottage-style garden or a mixed perennial bed this is the perfect plant. Very easy to grow with minimal care required. A handy tip is to mulch around the base of the plants at the beginning of Spring to retain more moisture during the summer months, reducing the amount of watering required throughout the season. Fertilise throughout the growing seasons, Spring through to Autumn, every 4-6 weeks depending on your choice of feed. By doing this it will encourage stronger, healthy growth and better flowers.

But… best of all, they can provide a safe haven for many of our friendly pollinators, all whilst being a fantastic food source for our native and exotic bees.
