Cornus florida ‘Alba’ – White Flowering Dogwood – 30cm Pot
Cornus florida Alba is a spectacular deciduous tree with attractive foliage and flowers. In early to mid Spring, stunning white flowers appear all over the tree. Cornus florida Alba makes a fantastic feature tree working well with another winter/spring flowering plants such as Hellebores and Camellias. They have moderate water requirements once established, deep soaking in the peak of summer will benefit the plant. Plant in an area protected from strong winds. Prefers to be grown in humus-rich, well-draining soil with an application of good quality fertiliser in Spring. Best used as a single specimen tree.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to conditions and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend with pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepared, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
