Dianthus ‘Passion’ – 14cm pot
Dianthus Passion is a hardy, low maintenance evergreen perennial which produces tall slender stems with large ruffled vibrant red blooms. The flowers are fragrant and pollinator-attracting. Blooms can be used for cut flower arrangements in floristry. The foliage is a silver-green grass-like, with a neat, compact, clumping growth habit. Dianthus Passion has low water requirements once established. Best used for potted displays or planted out on mass in a cottage-style garden.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to condition and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend compost/manure with the pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.

If planting into a pot, make sure the container selected is large enough for the plant which is going to be planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
