Cherry ‘Sunburst’ – Freshly Potted 25cm
A compact, upright deciduous fruiting tree that is semi self-fertile does produce more fruit with cross-pollination. Cherry Sunburst produces elliptic deep green leaves, which changes colour in autumn. It will require annual pruning in winter, as this will encourage a stronger branching framework, airflow through the canopy and better fruit quality. Cherry Sunburst produces medium-large heart shape fruit in clusters on new wood growth. The fruit is a deep ruby-red, almost black, with a red juicy and crisp flesh. The fruit is ideal for cooking, making jam and eaten fresh. This is a very reliable fruiting tree that is great for food gardens or as a feature tree. Cherry Sunburst grows best in humus-rich soil, which is well-draining.
