Lavandula pedunculata ‘Lavender The Queen’
Lavender The Queen is a neat, rounded, evergreen perennial which is a show stopper in the garden. From Spring, an abundance of bright violet-purple flowers with heavily ruffled bracts form above the foliage. Flowers will repeat bloom in Autumn and Winter. The leaves are a lovely bright green and are aromatic. This is an outstanding garden performer as they will tolerate extended periods of dry weather conditions. Lavender The Queen is best used in smaller gardens, patio areas, planted as a low hedge, border plant or as a filler plant in garden beds. Prune after flowering to promote dense new growth and further flowering. Low-moderate watering requirements once established, however, the plant will benefit from occasional watering in the peak of Summer. Applying a layer of mulch around the base 0f the plant will help to retain moisture at the roots during hot, dry weather.
