Brunnings Kikuyu Lawn Seed – 1kg Box
Brunnings Kikuyu Lawn Seed is perfect for the modern challenges the home gardener faces. This unique blend creates an extremely hard-wearing, lush green lawn that will thrive in warm to dry situations. Brunnings Kikuyu needs less water to survive than most other lawn varieties and grows in nearly all soil types. Unlike most common lawns, Brunnings Kikuyu is self-repairing so that even damaged areas will re-establish over time.
Brunnings Kikuyu also contains a nursery cover of “easy to establish” lawn specific turn annual ryegrass to provide early germination and greening in 7-10 days while allowing the slower germinating Kikuyu time to establish. Eventually, the Kikuyu will take over the entire lawn.

Planting Tips:
Many people forget that grass is a plant just like any other which thrives off of good soil and a bit of fertiliser. While it can be a lot more hardy than other plants and survive through incredibly tough conditions, for the best results you should always give it the same care as you would any other plant. This includes both feeding and watering.
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to conditions and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend with pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepared, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
