Picea pungens ‘Blue Star’ 30cm pot
Picea pungens ‘Blue Star’ is a beautiful slow-growing, conical tree. As the plant matures it will develop horizontally layered branches which provide a beautiful architectural element to the garden. These are extremely hardy tree which requires very little maintenance. Picea pungens ‘Blue Star’ develops a very bush growth habit from an early age and hardy rarely requires staking or pruning. Grow in a decorative pot, as an excellent long-lasting Christmas tree or plant out into the established garden beds. Low water requirements once established the plant will benefit from soaking in the peak of summer.
It is slow-growing, reaching approximately 2 metres in the first 10 years.

Height: 2 metres in the first 10 years. Over time, if planted in the ground, can slowly grow to 40m. To keep smaller contain in a pot and size up.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to condition and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend compost/manure with the pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
If planting into a pot, make sure the container selected is large enough for the plant which is going to be planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
