Lemon Yuzu – 20cm
Yuzu or commonly known as Japanese lemon is a citrus fruit that is highly sought after as its unique and deliciously tangy flavour from the zest and flesh are used in cooking, most commonly in Asian cuisine. Yuzu is one of the few citrus in the world that is able to maintain it’s flavour at high cooking temperatures which is why the fruit is desired by many.
Yuzu forms an upright shrub or small tree that has large thorns. The leaves are slightly similar to those of the kaffir lime and are heavily fragrant.
The fruit has many large seeds but is mainly prized for its highly aromatic juice and zest. The Yuzu fruit resembles a small grapefruit with uneven skin and can be either yellow or green depending on the degree of ripeness.
