Bergenia Eric Smith – 14cm
Bergenia Eric Smith is a hardy evergreen, clumping perennial best grown in a shaded position. Ideal as a filler in garden beds, an understory plant or planted in pots. From late Spring through to early Autumn, magenta-pink, downward-facing blooms on tall stems appear. By removing old flower heads throughout the peak flowering season will encourage more buds to develop and emerge. The foliage is a lush, large green which is a lovely contrast against other plants in the garden. Fertiliser throughout the peak growing seasons with preferred fertiliser. Bergenia Eric Smith has moderate water requirements once established.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to conditions and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend with pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gasp with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
