Schefflera actinophylla Amate is a compact, evergreen, slow-growing shrub with large glossy green foliage. It has a very uniform growth habit that doesn’t require pruning to keep its shape. Best grown in sheltered positions in tropical gardens, in pots on verandahs, however, in colder climates indoors is recommended. Fertilise monthly with a weak dilution of liquid fertiliser during the warmer month to encourage new growth. Schefflera actinophylla Amate has moderate water requirements. Allow the plant to dry out between watering during the colder months and keep moist, not soaked, during the warmer months.

Handy Growing Tips:
If you have heating units or air-conditioners, it is best to avoid placing plants underneath or next to them. This is because the air blowing out from these units can be very hot and dry, leaving a healthy plant burnt, damaged, and stressed.
