Tulipa sp. hybrid

Sturdy, resilient tulip hybrid which boasts brilliant magenta to wine purple flowers. Blooms stay fresh for weeks and thus are very suitable for use as cut flowers. A must for any traditional cottage or formal garden display, looks especially eye catching when accompanied by plants with yellow foliage or flowers. Especially suitable for cool, dry climates, requiring chilling in warmer regions. Enjoys organic fertiliser application well tilled into the soil before planting.

Sowing: Plant from March onwards

Cultivation: Pre-chill bulbs 4-6 weeks prior to planting. Tulips should be lifted each year after foliage has turned yellow and died down. Store in a cool, well ventilated, dry environment. Replant the following season. Requires wind protection.

Soil Position: Well drained soil is essential for healthy growth. Will tolerate other soils types but will not preform as well. Can be grown in a position that receives at least half a day of sun.
