- Easy quick-growing onion.
- Sow autumn to late winter in southern Australia.
- Germination time: 10-14 days. Can be longer in winter.
- Shaped like mini purplish-red torpedoes, these long sleek onions have a distinctive flavour perfect fro frying, hamburgers, sandwiches or salads.
- Prepare bed thoroughly, preferably in the sunniest spot in the garden. Give a good dressing of lime, especially in sandy soils. Scatter a balanced fertiliser and rake in. Sow thinly 2 cm deep in rows 20cm apart. When seedlings reach 8cm high, thin to 15cm apart.
