An upright, compact evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green, oval leaves. In Autumn and early Winter, the plant produces semi-double, white, hints of pink blush, flowers. Prune after flowering to desired height and shape, this will encourage a bushy growth habit and the future development of flowers. Moderate water requirements once established deep soaking in the peak of summer will benefit the plant. Prefers to be grown in humus-rich soil which is well-draining.
Camellia sasanqua ‘Asakura’
Camellia sasanqua ‘Asakura’ produces pure white blooms throughout Winter. It is an upright, compact, evergreen medium-sized shrub with glossy, dark green oval leaves. In Autumn and early Winter, semi-double white flowers with hints of pink appear. Once flowers have finished blooming in late Winter, prune to your desired height and shape. Doing this will encourage a neat, bushy growth habit. Camellias have moderate water requirements once established but benefit from deep soaking in the peak of summer. They are best grown in humus-rich, well-draining soil. Best used for hedging or planted as a feature tree.
