Achillea Desert Cream – 14cm pot
Achillea Desert Cream is a long-flowering, low-growing spreading perennial. The ideal plant as a filler in garden beds, feature plant or planted in pots for seasonal displays. From mid Spring stems of beautiful creamy white blooms appear. Prune after flowering as this will encourage a second flush of flowers to bloom through to Autumn. The foliage is a lush green and fern-like, which is a lovely contrast against other plants. Achillea Desert Cream is a compact, neat growing perennial which will die back to ground level during winter and re-emerge in the spring. Prune the plant back by 2-4 inches once flowering has stopped as this will encourage strong healthy growth. Fertiliser throughout the peak growing seasons with preferred fertiliser. Low water requirements once established.
Position: Full Sun
Make sure to prepare the soil prior to planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to conditions and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend with pre-existing soil, mixing together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gasp with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
