Lilac (Syringa) ‘Madame Lemoine’ – 20cm Pot

Lilac ‘Madame Lemoine’ is a medium sized deciduous shrub with showy spring blooms. In mid-spring, creamy yellow buds open to large clusters of white sweet scented flowers. Lilac Madame Lemoine makes a fantastic feature where you can position it to benefit from it’s fragrant blooms . They have moderate water requirements once established, deep soaking in the peak of summer will benefit the plant. Prefers to be grown in humus-rich, well-draining soil with an application of good quality fertiliser in Spring.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil before planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to condition and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend compost/manure with the pre-existing ground, mixing thoroughly. Once the ground has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.

The container selected needs to be large enough for the plant chosen. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
