Acer palmatum ‘Skeeters Broom’ – 40cm pot
A decorative ornamental tree perfect as a feature plant. Acer palmatum Skeeters Broom is best known for its upright, rounded form and stunning Autumn foliage. The foliage provides a display year-round, foliage in Spring-Summer ranges from bright red to deep purple-red. In Autumn, colour turns ruby red, giving your garden an eye-catching display. Acer Skeeters Broom has moderate water requirements, the plant will benefit from occasional watering in Summer. Requires fertile, humus-rich soil with protection from strong winds.

Make sure to prepare the soil before planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to condition and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend compost/manure with the pre-existing ground, mixing thoroughly. Once the ground has been prepare, dig a hole which is wider, but not deeper, than what the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
The container selected needs to be large enough for the plant chosen. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
