Planting Tips:
To get the best from your water plants, you should try to plant them in clean water free from any runoff or dirty water. Ensure you are planting in the correct zone for the plant. If planted too deep or too shallow they may struggle to grow in the intended way. If you can find a way to plant without soil it can make a drastic difference to the water quality and reduce the strain on your water filter.
Methods for planting vary, though some popular methods include gently wedging the washed roots between some pond safe rocks at the base of the pond or placing the potted plant directly into the pond. Place your water plant at the right depth to ensure the best results. Gravel based ponds will allow you to plant into the gravel.
The excrement and leftover food from fish can be a good enough source of nutrients for the plants. If you do not have fish or if you are finding your plants struggling, then you can purchase a pond plant fertiliser tablet specially designed to give nutrients to plants in a pond.
