Plum Damson Dwarf – Freshly Potted*
An upright deciduous fruiting tree that requires pollination for fruit development. Plum Damson produces long stems with elliptic deep green leaves, which change colour in autumn. It will require annual pruning once the foliage has dropped in winter. This will encourage a stronger branching framework, airflow through the canopy and better fruit quality. Plum Damson has tiny oval fruit with dark reddish-purple skin. The flesh is yellow and is firm, juicy with a semi-clingstone seed. Ideal for eating fresh, cooking, drying or preserving. This is an ideal tree for smaller gardens, patios, apartments, food gardens or planted into a large pot. It grows best in humus-rich soil, which is well-draining.

Planting Tips:
Prepare the soil before planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost will help to condition and revitalise tired soils. If adding organic matter to your soil, make sure to blend the compost or animal manure with pre-existing soil, mixing/digging it together thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepared, dig a wider hole, but not deeper, than the pot’s original size has come in. Position the plant in the hole, backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Do not bury the graft of the plant. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.
Suppose planting into a pot. The container chosen is large enough to accommodate the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container that is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
