Chestnut Emerald Gem – Freshly Potted*
A medium, semi-weeping deciduous tree which needs another variety of Chestnut for cross-pollination. Chestnut Emerald Gem produces deep green leaves which change colour in autumn, the foliage will drop leaving branches bare in winter. Medium-sized fruit is encased in burr-cover. When the fruit falls from the tree they are ready to be harvested. Fruits are ideal for eating, roasting, cooking or grounding into flour. Chestnut Emerald Gem grows best in humus-rich soil which is well-draining.
