Callistemon ‘Better John’
Spectacular, upright, dwarf, compact native perennial with narrow green foliage. Callistemon Better John has masses of bright red, brush-like, flowers in spring and summer. Once flowers have finished, prune the plant back to encourage a fresh healthy new growth. Best used in rockeries, native gardens, general landscaping, mass plantings and pots. Low water requirements once established. Callistemon Better John can tolerate moderate frosts and dry conditions once established. Use a native potting mix if grown in pots.

Planting Tips:
When planting Australian natives they don’t require too much work to get them settled. Fertiliser Australian native plants in the prime growing seasons, Spring and early Autumn for the best results. However, make sure to use the right food. Almost all natives dislike soils and food with high phosphorus levels, therefore when fertilising these plants make sure to use a fertiliser made especially for them with phosphorus (P) level of 3% or less.
If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Make sure to use a premium quality Australian Native Potting Mix as this has the correct balance of wetting agents and nutrients required for having a healthy plant.
