Jonquil Bridal Crown Bulbs 3pk
Narcissus jonquila
Jonquil Bridal Crown are a very hardy bulb, they feature short cream petals with a golden centre. Performs well in warmer climates. Great for cut flowers, highly fragrant and perfect in pots.
General Information: Suitable for all climates except tropical. Very hardy, often surviving in
old gardens after everything else has perished. Jonquils flower better in warmer climates than
Daffodils. They will generally only flower from round mature bulbs. Deeper planted bulbs
appear to stay healthier, and split less frequently, thus producing more flowers for many years.
Planting Depth: 12 cm deep
Height: 30-40 cm
Blooming Time: Blooms in late Winter, early Spring.
Soil Position: A well drained soil is required.
Position: Full sun/Part shade
Planting Time: Plant from March onwards.
Cultivation: Deep planting of the bulbs will help minimize the bulbs splitting and keep them healthier, thus producing more flowers. Can remain undisturbed in the ground for years to naturalise.
Watering: Water bulbs after planting and not again until foliage appear unless experiencing
extremely dry conditions. Once buds appears give a good weekly watering. Prefers a well drained soil.
Fertilising: Fertilise lightly when planting and after flowering use a commercial bulb fertiliser.
Lifting & Storage: After about 3-4 years bulbs should be lifted, cleaned and stored as clumps
tend to become congested and will produce poorer quality flowers.
Pests: Bait snails regularly as they like to chew the blooms of jonquils.
Tips: In warmer climates plant up to double the recommended depth.
Caution: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
