Hippeastrum hybridum

Tolerant of tough conditions and easy to grow. This Hippie is a real stand-out with its striking, pure scarlet velvety blooms. Grows very strongly in the garden and also makes a wonderful display in pots and containers. For Christmas flowering, keep bulbs in the crisper section of your refrigerator until mid November.

Planting Time: Spring Planting.

Depth: Plant neck of bulb above soil level.

Flowering: Late Spring / Summer.

Positioning: Full or part sun, protect from wind.

Watering: Side water weekly during dry spells, do not water overhead.

Soil: Well drained soil or potting mix with organic matter and compost.

Protect from snails and slugs.
