Leucospermum cuneiforme hybrid ‘Carnival Orange’
Leucospermum Carnival Orange is a medium, hardy, evergreen shrub which has decorative small, coarse, leaves which are a lovely mid-green colour. In Spring, a profusion of large, golden-orange, pin-cushion shaped flowers appear. The flowers can be used in floral arrangements as they hold their colour for long periods of time. Their flowers are highly bird attracting. Best used in native gardens, coastal gardens, general landscaping, pots or as a medium-sized hedge. Best grown in full sun and well-draining soil, will not grow in alkaline or boggy/clay soils. If planting into larger pots, make sure to use a native potting mix. Leucospermum Carnival Orange has low water requirements once established in the garden. The first 12-18 months it is important to maintain good watering practices as this is vital to the plant’s establishment.

Planting Tips:
When planting Australian natives they don’t require too much work to get them settled. Fertiliser Australian native plants in the prime growing seasons, Spring and early Autumn for the best results. However, make sure to use the right food. Almost all natives dislike soils and food with high phosphorus levels, therefore when fertilising these plants make sure to use a fertiliser made especially for them with phosphorus (P) level of 3% or less.
If planting into a pot make sure that the container chosen is large enough for the plant being planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Make sure to use a premium quality Australian Native Potting Mix as this has the correct balance of wetting agents and nutrients required for having a healthy plant.
