Blueberry O’Neal – 15cm pot – (winter crop has no leaves)

Blueberry O’Neal has dark green, oval foliage which changes colour throughout the year depending on the season. Autumn, the foliage colour changes from green to shades of red and orange before dropping in the Winter. Blueberry O’Neal is the earliest season ripening over about 8 weeks. Medium blue, firm fruit with good flavour. Excellent picking and keeping quality. Blueberry fruit can be used fresh or to make jams, sauces and in cooking.

Southern Highbush variety with great flavour.

• Suitable for those areas where lack of chill is a consideration.

Planting Tips:
Make sure to prepare the soil before planting. Mixing in a bag of well-aged animal manure or compost can help to condition and revitalise tired soil. Make sure to blend compost/manure with the pre-existing soil, mixing thoroughly. Once the soil has been prepared, dig a wider hole, but not deeper, than the original size of the pot the plant has come in. Position the plant in the hole and backfill any gaps with the excess soil. Give the plant a deep soaking of water to help settle the roots.

If planting into a pot, make sure the container selected is large enough to be planted. Never pot a plant into a container which is too small. Use a premium quality potting mix as this has all the added fertilisers and wetting agents required for having a healthy plant.
